About Us

Dr. Emily Shackelton is a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. She was born in Spokane, Washington. In 1989, she graduated with honors from Eastern Washington University with a Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. She worked as a hygienist in Spokane until 1991 when she moved to Seattle. In 1991 and 1992 she made volunteer trips to Belize, Central America to administer dental treatment in rural communities.

After five years of private practice, Dr. Shackelton decided to expand her dental experience and pursue a degree in Dentistry. She attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and, upon her graduation in 1998, received several prestigious awards. She soon relocated to the Pacific Northwest to practice.

Dr. Shackelton is married and has a young daughter. With her family, she enjoys reading, travel and outdoor activities. Dr. Shackelton looks forward to meeting you and helping you with your dental needs.

Rene, our Front Office Manager since 2009, has been passionate about dentistry for over fifteen years. Originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, she moved to Omaha, Nebraska after high school to study health sciences and health services administration at Creighton University. She remains fascinated with the dental field and enjoys sharing her dental knowledge with patients to positively impact their dental experience. She is happily settled here in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and two little dogs. In her spare time, Rene enjoys culinary exploration, travel and the performing arts.

Amber, a Certified Dental Assistant, grew up in Bellingham, Washington. She earned her dental assisting certificate at Bellingham Technical College in 2004 and has a Washington State Dental Assisting License. She is in the process of continuing her education toward a Dental Hygiene degree. She loves her job, she says, because it allows her to interact with so many wonderful people.

Kayleen, a Registered Dental Assistant, has been working in the dental field since 2006. She is currently working toward a Dental Hygiene degree and loves challenging herself to expand her dental knowledge. She enjoys giving back to her community and has had the opportunity to volunteer on a service trip to Central America. In her spare time she enjoys hiking and skiing.

Alison, a Registered Dental Hygienist, is originally from the Wenatchee Valley. She attended the University of Washington for her dental hygiene prerequisites, then continued on to graduate from the Shoreline Community College Dental Hygiene program in 2009. She loves educating patients on maintaining their oral health. In her spare time she enjoys hiking, biking, snowboarding and skiing with friends and family.
